TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) - Police say the husband of a slain Northeast Texas woman has been charged with opening fire during a street fight and investigators want to know if that shot accidentally killed his wife.

Texarkana police spokesman Shawn Vaughn says 27-year-old Travon Walker was being held Thursday on a deadly conduct charge with $75,000 bond. Records don’t list an attorney representing Walker.

Vaughn says the deadly conduct charge is not related to Wednesday’s death of Kaitlin Lee. She was found wounded after Tuesday’s disturbance involving about 20 people and shots fired.

Vaughn says police are investigating what sparked the fight leading to a stray bullet striking Lee. A police statement says investigators believe Walker was involved and fired at least once.

Police say Lee wasn’t involved. Her death does not appear intentional.
