Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, made it clear in her latest interview that she is not planning to run for president anytime soon.
Many speculated Ms. Haley might primary President Trump or at least run in 2024, but as of Friday, neither plan appealed to her.
“Truly, no one believes me: I am not even thinking about it,” she told The Atlantic in an interview. “You know what I think about? I think about sleeping in.”
She explained that she’s answered her phone “with a pit in my stomach” for the last eight years and is ready to take a break from the constant pressure.
The former South Carolina governor announced her resignation from the administration on amicable terms in early October.
Mr. Trump on Friday tapped State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert to replace Ms. Haley as the U.N. ambassador. The Senate still needs to confirm the nomination.
