The Washington Redskins discussed free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick, but coach Jay Gruden said Tuesday the team likely won’t be signing him.

Washington will add another quarterback with Colt McCoy breaking his leg in Monday’s 28-13 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team plans to start Mark Sanchez, who replaced McCoy, the rest of the season, Gruden said.

“He’s been talked about and discussed, but we’ll probably go a different direction,” he said.

Kaepernick hasn’t played since 2016.
