Former CIA chief John O. Brennan made sure not to exit 2018 without at least one more attack on President Trump.
“It is my sincere hope that the forthcoming exposure of your malfeasance & corruption will convince enough Republicans to abandon you in 2019,” Mr. Brennan tweeted Monday. “We have had enough of your whining from the White House. We need an actual leader — our Nation’s future is at stake.”
Mr. Brennan has been a regular critic of Mr. Trump throughout 2018 on a menagerie of issues.

In March, for example, he blasted the commander in chief for mulling steel and aluminum tariffs as a means of protecting the industries.
“You show an amazing albeit unsurprising ignorance of how technology, automation, and the attendant evolution of economics and societies have transformed the world,” Mr. Brennan, who served under former President Barack Obama, tweeted on March 7. “Your simple minded policies — imposition of tariffs — have the potential to seriously damage our future prosperity.”

Mr. Brennan’s latest broadside came in response to Mr. Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria and his condemnation of “endless wars.”
“I am the only person in America who could say that, ’I’m bringing our great troops back home, with victory,’ and get BAD press,” Mr. Trump tweeted Monday. “It is Fake News and Pundits who have FAILED for years that are doing the complaining. If I stayed in Endless Wars forever, they would still be unhappy!”
