OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) - Democratic Rep.-elect Sharice Davids plans to put a congressional office in the same suburban Kansas City space used by her departing Republican predecessor.

Davids says she hopes to avoid confusion among residents in the Kansas City-area 3rd District by having the same Overland Park address and telephone number as four-term GOP Rep. Kevin Yoder did.

She said the office in Johnson County will open Jan. 7, four days after she is sworn in.

Davids said she is planning to open a second office in neighboring Wyandotte County. The district also includes part of northern Miami County.

Davids defeated Yoder in the November election.
