RICHFIELD, Ohio (AP) - Police say the death of a 26-year-old man who drowned at a hotel pool near Cleveland doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
A detective says the man was with family members Wednesday at the Days Inn & Suites pool in Richfield when he started flailing and calling for help.
Police told cleveland.com that none of the others knew how to swim well enough to try to save him.
Detective Mike Swanson adds that some of the people near the pool might not have thought the man was being serious when he called for help.
Police say hotel staff members pulled him out and were performing first aid when police and paramedics arrived.
Authorities identified the man as Jevonte Ball of Cleveland.
