CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The only major glass recycler in Cheyenne is no longer accepting glass.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports WYCO Recycling is still accepting cardboard, paper, cans, plastics and other recyclables.

WYCO representatives could not be reached for comment this week, but glass, while limitlessly recyclable, is more expensive to recycle and transport than other reusables due to the material’s weight and density.

The city of Cheyenne doesn’t accept glass as part of its curbside program, nor do other recycling companies in Cheyenne or Laramie County.

Cheyenne’s Target accepts glass for recycling at its guest services department.

Cheyenne residents interested in recycling their glass can do so at the Larimer County Landfill and the Timberline Recycling Center, both in Fort Collins, Colorado, as well as a number of other northern Colorado locations.
