GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies in South Carolina say a suspect in a shooting is dead after a wreck.

Greenville Sheriff’s Master Deputy Jason Cox said in a news release the shooting and wreck happened around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Cox says two people were walking down a road when a car approached from behind and the driver got out and fired at them. One person was hit and was taken to a Greenville hospital for treatment. There was no word on the person’s condition. Cox says the suspect then drove away and crashed into a parked car.

Cox says the suspect was killed. Cox did not say how the man died. No other details were immediately available.

The names of those involved have not been released yet.
