INDEPENDENCE, La. (AP) - Authorities say a 10-year-old boy and 45-year-old woman have been killed in the New Orleans area.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Monday that it can give few details. But detectives think the two knew their killer.
They were killed Sunday in Independence, about 40 miles (87 kilometers) north-northwest of New Orleans.
The statement did not identify them or say how they were killed.
In an unrelated case, the sheriff’s office is searching for a 33-year-old New Orleans man accused of shooting a 50-year-old man to death in a bar fight in Amite.
A news release says Jerome Ricks was released Oct. 29 on parole for armed robbery.
He is now wanted in the death Sunday of Larry Anthony Davis Sr. at Mr. J’s Lounge.
