SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah’s unemployment rate for November remained unchanged at 3.2 percent compared with October, with approximately 50,000 residents unemployed and looking for work.
The Department of Workforce Service said Friday the nonfarm payroll for November grew by 2.9 percent, adding 43,000 jobs to the state’s economy since November 2017.
Chief Economist Carrie Mayne says the year-over-year job growth shows some softening but says that may be due to the prolonged low unemployment rate as tight labor supply can restrain potential job growth.
