WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Emese Hof and Beatrice Mompremier had double-doubles and No. 24 Miami had its best opening half of the season to coast to a 90-65 win over Vanderbilt on Thursday night in the Florida Sunshine Classic.

Hof had 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting with 11 rebounds and Mompremier had 16 points with 13 boards for her third-straight and eighth double-double of the season. Mykea Gray had 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting, four assists and three steals for the Hurricanes (10-2), who have won four straight.

Hof had 11 points in the first quarter, six in a 12-0 run and three in an 11-0 run, as the Hurricanes raced to a 29-14 lead. In making 13 of 17 shots, Miami was one point shy of its best quarter of the season and two shy of matching the school record for any quarter.

The Hurricanes cooled off to 50 percent in the second quarter and led 51-30 at the break.

Miami stayed hot in the second half and finished at 62 percent (39 of 63) for the game. Laura Cornelius added 11 points and had six of Miami’s 24 assists.

Vanderbilt (4-7) shot 55 percent in the second half but couldn’t overcome the 37.5 percent from the opening half and a 39-23 rebounding deficit. Mariella Fasoula led the Commodores with 21 points.
