BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The owners of a Vermont bar have been ordered to appear for a hearing related to a shooting at the front of the bar earlier this year.

The owners of Nectar’s in Burlington are being ordered to appear in front of Vermont’s Liquor and Lottery Board to determine whether the business will be fined or have action taken against its liquor license. The Burlington Free Press reports police say Rashad Nashid shot an innocent bystander, Chelsi Parker, in the lung after the bar closed.

Nashid has denied all charges.

Police allege a bouncer took away Nashid’s gun earlier in the night, but did not call police and gave the gun back to Nashid later in the night.

Attempts to reach the bar’s owners were unsuccessful.
