PHOENIX (AP) - The FBI is trying to identify and arrest a woman believed responsible for a string of Phoenix-area bank robberies over the past five months.
Phoenix police say the suspect has been dubbed the “Biddy Bandit” and appears to be in her late 40s to early 50s.
In each case, authorities say the woman stands in line before approaching a teller with a demand note that implies she has a weapon although no witnesses have reported seeing one.
The FBI says the woman robbed the same Chase Bank branch in Peoria on Aug. 4 and Nov. 24.
She also has robbed or tried to rob a Wells Fargo in Mesa on Sept. 10, a Chase Bank branch in Tempe on Nov. 14 and a Chase Bank in Phoenix on Tuesday.
