WASHINGTON (AP) - A 16-year-old boy in the nation’s capital has been arrested in the slaying of a 15-year-old police say was chased into an apartment stairwell and shot to death.
The Washington Post reports Malik Holston is charged as an adult with second-degree murder while armed in the death of Gerald Watson.
D.C. Metro police say two masked assailants killed Watson Thursday after school. Police still are searching for the second suspect.
Police say detectives have learned little about the motive behind the high school freshman’s slaying but know an argument happened between two neighborhood groups.
Holston may appear in court Wednesday, when more details about the shooting are expected to be made public. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
