PRAIRIEVILLE, La. (AP) - Authorities say a Louisiana woman shown stealing delivered packages on surveillance video has been arrested.
Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Bobby Webre tells the Advocate that surveillance video showed 22-year-old Verenize Alvarez taking the packages, which were items from Amazon that were delivered Monday. Webre says the items were reported missing by residents.
Authorities say deputies located surveillance video, identified the vehicle that Alvarez was driving and found it at her home.
Authorities say Alvarez said she stole the packages, but told deputies she dumped the items. Webre says the items are unrecovered at this point.
Alvarez was booked on counts of criminal trespassing and theft. It’s unclear if she has a lawyer who could comment.
