BOSTON (AP) - Police say they’ve arrested three teens for assaulting and robbing a jewelry store worker in downtown Boston.

Police say the group of youths had congregated in the doorway of a jewelry store in Downtown Crossing and were ringing the bell relentlessly.

Police say the store worker asked them to leave multiple times, but they refused. When the worker opened the door, police say the youths swarmed her.

The fight spilled into the jewelry store and one of the suspects ripped the victim’s gold necklace off before fleeing on foot.

Police say they eventually arrested two 14-year-old girls and 15-year-old boy from Boston.

The teens have been charged with assault and battery on a victim over the age of 60 and unarmed robbery. They’ll be arraigned in juvenile court later.
