PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - After a year at North Carolina, Henry Baker has rejoined the Rutgers football staff as defensive backs coach and coordinator for the passing defense.

Coach Chris Ash announced the hiring Monday, with Baker returning to take the job he left in 2017 to join Larry Fedora’s staff.

Fedora was dismissed after this season and Baker was able to return to his old job when Cory Robinson left to join Mike Locksley’s new staff at Maryland.

In 2017 with Rutgers, Baker helped a defensive unit make marked improvements, including posting 12 interceptions, which were four more than the previous season. Cornerback Damon Hayes earned All-Big Ten honorable mention.

Before going to Rutgers, Baker spent six seasons at Delaware.
