President Trump’s personal attorney former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Sunday Special Counsel Robert Mueller will interview the president “over my dead body,” flatly ruling out a sit-down interview with the special counsel’s team.

The comment comes as recent reports suggest Mr. Mueller still wants to sit down with Mr. Trump despite the president answering their inquiries in writing last month concerning the federal probe into Russian interference with the 2016 election.

“Good luck after what they did to Flynn — after they trapped him into perjury,” Mr. Giuliani told Fox News. “Over my dead body.”

He said the investigators are “a joke” and came close to violating the president’s former national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn’s rights when they interviewed him about his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the transition.

Former FBI Director James Comey, who led the Russian probe before Mr. Mueller, said two agents initially sat down with Mr. Flynn without any White House lawyer present, bypassing the usual process agents would take when they wanted to talk with an administration official.

“I am disgusted with the tactics they have used in this case,” Mr. Giuliani said.

He also slammed Mr. Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen, who has alleged the president directed him to make payments to a former Playboy model and a porn star ahead of the election, which allegedly violated campaign finance laws.

“The man is a complete pathological liar — cannot be believed — and they all never put him on a witness stand,” Mr. Giuliani said.
