Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins is defending her recent remark that she feels “vindicated” for voting to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The Supreme Court rejected appeals last week from Kansas and Louisiana in their effort to strip Medicaid money from Planned Parenthood.
The Maine senator notes in an appearance Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” Kavanaugh ruled “impartially” even though Planned Parenthood “went after him.”
Planned Parenthood’s political arm called Collins “delusional” for saying Kavanaugh’s vote against hearing the case signaled his support for Roe v. Wade.
Collins also said she expects courts will overturn a federal judge’s Friday ruling that the Obama health law is unconstitutional. Collins said there’s no reason why the courts can’t strike down the individual mandate while letting the rest of the law stand.
