The White House announced it will not be hosting its annual Christmas party for members of the media this holiday season.

Fox News reported this week that President Trump had canceled the decadeslong tradition often attended by media executives and network anchors. The White House confirmed the news in a statement Thursday.

“The White House Christmas press party was not put on the holiday schedule this year,” the statement read.

“However, we have accommodated members of the media and their families who have asked to see the holiday decorations by arranging White House Open House Tours for them,” it added.

The Trumps held a Christmas party for the press at the White House last December, but they did not pose for pictures as has been tradition with past presidents, Fox News reported.

Mr. Trump routinely attacks left-leaning media as “fake news” and has twice refused to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
