DOVER, Del. (AP) - A Delaware judge says a court employee who was fired for sending a personal email to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg while Zuckerberg was expected to testify in a shareholder lawsuit is not entitled to unemployment benefits.

Thursday’s ruling upholds a decision by the state Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board that Donna White was fired for just cause because she had violated the Court of Chancery’s code of conduct.

White had worked more than seven years for the Chancery Court, a nationally respected venue for resolving lawsuits involving some of the largest companies in the world.

Court records indicate that White sent an email to Zuckerberg in October 2017, using the state’s email system, seeking assistance and guidance regarding a personal business venture.

Zuckerberg’s attorney then alerted a Chancery Court judge.
