ATLANTA (AP) - A judge in Georgia has refused to end a man’s appeal that he was wrongly convicted of killing a fast food restaurant manager 20 years ago.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Chattooga County Superior Court Judge Kristina Cook Graham on Wednesday rejected prosecutors’ attempts to end an appeal by Devonia Inman.

Graham says she needs time to review more about the case against Inman, who was convicted in the 1998 death of Donna Brown, night manager of a restaurant in Adel. Brown was shot in the face as she left the Taco Bell with more than $1,700 to make a bank deposit.

Graham is considering whether to allow Inman’s new lawyers to interview a co-worker who they say killed Brown.

Prosecutors argue Inman’s lawyers’ request is too late under Georgia law.
