Attorney Lanny Davis hinted Wednesday that his client Michael Cohen has more to say about President Trump but will likely remain mum until after special counsel Robert Mueller wraps up his Russian meddling investigation.
After Cohen, Mr. Trump’s former fixer and personal lawyer, was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday for his role in arranging hush payments during the 2016 election, Mr. Davis said his client plans on spilling the beans on the president, including before Congress.
“At the appropriate time, after Mr. Mueller completes his investigation and issues his final report, I look forward to assisting Michael to state publicly all he knows about Mr. Trump — and that includes any appropriate congressional committee interested in the search for the truth and the difference between facts and lies,” Mr. Davis said in a statement.
Mr. Davis also said that Cohen’s sentencing should have taken into account his cooperation with the Mueller team.
Cohen pleaded guilty in August to eight criminal charges. As part of the plea deal, he admitted to arranging payments to two women who alleged they had affairs with Mr. Trump before he became president. Mr. Trump has denied the allegations.
Prosecutors said those payments were arranged at the direction of Mr. Trump.

A ninth charge was added last month, when Cohen admitted to lying to Congress about Mr. Trump’s plans to build a Trump Tower in Russia. Cohen has also pleaded guilty in that case.
