ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A new low-cost airline is starting service from Albany International Airport to three Florida destinations this week.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air launches its first flight from Albany on Wednesday. The ultra-low fare carrier will serve St. Petersburg-Clearwater on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It will fly to Punta Gorda, Florida on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and to Orlando-Sanford on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The Albany County Airport Authority board approved a $55.3 million budget for the coming year on Monday. It includes several capital improvements as well as a new 1,000-car parking garage and several new passenger loading bridges.
