FRANCIS, Utah (AP) - A Utah man is facing charges after police say he drunkenly knocked over a roommate’s Christmas tree and then fired about 15 shots from a handgun at two people.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports Randal Weed Dickinson was arrested Sunday following gunshots that struck appliances and went through walls but didn’t hit anyone in Francis - a small town on the western edge of Summit County.

According toa probable cause statement, the ruckus began after a highly intoxicated Dickinson fell onto the Christmas tree while attempting to cross the living room.

Authorities say residents told the 57-year-old Dickinson to go return to his room, and he responded by firing his gun at the homeowner and his son.

Police say Dickinson held him until authorities arrived.

It was not known if Dickinson had an attorney.
