PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island Hospital says it has filed an unfair labor practice claim against a union representing nurses and other health care workers who recently went on strike.
The union filed a claim against the hospital too.
The hospital said Thursday it filed the claim with the National Labor Relations Board, stating it’s concerned with the United Nurses and Allied Professionals’ “bad faith bargaining” in contract negotiations.
Shortly after, the union said it had filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board against Rhode Island Hospital Thursday. The union says the hospital implemented unilateral changes to workplace conditions that are subject to collective bargaining.
About 2,400 nurses and other health care workers at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital went on strike for three days in July.
