Helen Aguirre Ferré, the Trump administration’s director of media affairs for Latino and African-American news outlets, recently left her position at the White House.
Univision reported the departure Wednesday evening when White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp confirmed it.
“We greatly appreciate Helen’s work, service and dedication during her time in the White House. She will continue to work for the Administration in a different capacity,” Schlapp said in an email to Univision.
While neither Ms. Ferré nor the White House revealed details behind the departure or her next job, the Spanish news outlet noted that there is speculation Ms. Ferré will move to the National Endowment for the Arts.
Ms. Ferré was among the 10 White House officials recently slapped with a complaint from the nonprofit group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
CREW submitted the complaints on Aug. 2 to the Office of Special Counsel. The group accused Ms. Ferré and other officials of using their official Twitter accounts to promote President Trump’s 2020 re-election bid. They argue this violates the Hatch Act.
Ms. Ferré was appointed her to her position with the Trump administration in January 2017.
