President Trump on Tuesday touted sanctions slapped on Iran at midnight, calling them “the most biting sanctions every imposed.”
The president called on other nations to join his economic pressure campaign, reminding them that business with Iran excludes them from dealing with the U.S.
The Iran sanctions have officially been cast. These are the most biting sanctions ever imposed, and in November they ratchet up to yet another level. Anyone doing business with Iran will NOT be doing business with the United States. I am asking for WORLD PEACE, nothing less!

The sanctions Mr. Trump reimposed at midnight were lifted by former President Barack Obama as part of the 2015 Iran deal. The current president has repeatedly criticized the agreement as one of the worst deals for the U.S. that didn’t stop Iran’s work toward a nuclear weapon.
The administration argued that the sanctions were aimed at changing the regime’s behavior, but total regime change wasn’t the goal.
