Actor Brad Pitt’s divorce proceedings got messy this week when Angelina Jolie accused him in court documents of not paying “meaningful” child support.
The Hollywood power couple that once starred in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” has disintegrated — replete with a nasty court battle being waged in Los Angeles Superior Court.
“[Brad Pitt] has a duty to pay child support. As of present, [he] has paid no meaningful child support since separation,” wrote Jolie’s attorney, Samantha Bley DeJean, in a two-page brief first reported by NBC News.
The celebrities filed for divorce in 2016 citing irreconcilable differences.
They have six children together ranging from age nine to sixteen.
“Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children’s expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an [request for a court order] for the establishment of a retroactive child support order,” the court documents say.
Mr. Pitt’s spokesman did not immediately comment when contacted by the network.
