PHOENIX (AP) - Another record-tying day of heat for Phoenix.

National Weather Service meteorologists say Monday’s high of 114 degrees tied the record for Aug. 6 for the city that was set in 1995.

The Phoenix metro area was under an excessive heat warning until Monday night.

Temperatures are expected to cool down to 111 on Tuesday, which would be one degree shy of the record set for that date in 2012.

Phoenix tied or broke a heat record on three days last month, including a mark of 116 degrees on July 24 that was the hottest day of the year so far.
