TRUMANN, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say a northeast Arkansas police chief was wounded in a shooting in which the chief fatally shot a man.
A state police statement says Trumann Police Chief Chad Henson suffered non-life threatening wounds and is hospitalized after the Friday morning shooting that killed Johnny Kelley.
State police say Henson was contacted by Kelley, who asked him come to his home near Trumann, and when Henson approached the residence, Kelley shot Henson, who returned fire.
It was not revealed why Kelley asked Henson to come to his home.
Kelley was pronounced dead at the scene while Henson was taken to a hospital in undisclosed condition.
State police are investigating the shooting.
