The Washington Mystics are likely breathing a big sigh of relief Wednesday afternoon.

Elena Delle Donne’s left knee injury was diagnosed as a bone bruise, and she is questionable to play in Friday’s Game 3 of the WNBA Semifinals against the Atlanta Dream, the team announced.

Some feared the worst when Delle Donne left Game 2 Tuesday night after her knee buckled and she collapsed in the fourth quarter. She was in obvious pain and needed help from her teammates to leave the floor.

But after the game, the Mystics’ PR team provided a comment from Delle Donne in which she said she was hopeful because she could walk and the swelling “isn’t terrible.”

Delle Donne had score 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds up to that point in the game, two days after posting 32 points and 13 boards in Washington’s Game 1 win.

The Dream won Game 2 78-75 to even the series at one win apiece.

Game 3 is Friday night, followed by Game 4 Sunday, both at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington.
