SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Five Arizona airports have been awarded more than $8 million infrastructure grants from the Federal Aviation Administration.
U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao announced the grants Monday.
The airports that will receive funds are Chandler Municipal Airport, Scottsdale Municipal Airport, Glendale Municipal Airport, Eloy Municipal Airport and Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport.
The allotments range from $3.7 million for Chandler Airport and $300,000 for Eloy. The grants will cover needs such as aircraft repairs and acquiring land.
Chao says the grants will lead to more jobs.
The FAA is awarding more than $616 million in grants as part of a fourth allotment of $3.2 billion from the Airport Improvement Program.
