Hill became a lightning rod at the cable sports network after multiple reprimands and a suspension for her increasingly critical political comments directed at President Donald Trump and in support of athletes using their positions to protest American policies during the national anthem.
After months of harsh criticism of Trump and his supporters on Twitter last year Hill was warned and reprimanded by ESPN to cease and desist as the network became increasingly sensitive to charges that they had become overtly political in their coverage of on and off the field sports topics.
Then in September, she tweeted that Donald Trump was a “white supremacist.”
Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists.

Hill was reportedly earning $2.5 million per year.
