MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Two New Hampshire groups are sponsoring a 40-mile “Solidarity Walk for Immigrant Justice” from an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Manchester to another in Dover to mirror the trip of an immigrant who is detained.
The New Hampshire Council of Churches and the American Friends Service Committee in the state are holding the walk, which starts Wednesday and ends Saturday.
The walk would start at the ICE office in Manchester and end at the jail in Dover. It will pass through the towns of Auburn, Candia, Raymond, Epping, Lee, and Madbury.
The groups participate in a monthly interfaith vigil at the Norris Cotton Federal Building in Manchester to support those immigrants who have to report in to learn if they will be detained or deported.
