BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A traveling memorial to the victims of the nation’s opioid crisis is making a weeklong stop in Buffalo.

The memorial called “Prescribed to Death” will be unveiled at Canalside on Monday.

The art installation features a wall constructed of 22,000 carved pills, each representing the face of someone who fatally overdosed on a prescribed opioid in 2015.

Among those memorialized is Michael Israel of Buffalo, whose father Avi Israel now runs the nonprofit Save the Michaels of the World. Avi Israel consulted with the National Safety Council during its development of the exhibit.

Buffalo is the fourth stop on the memorial’s nationwide tour, which launched in Chicago.

The memorial will be on display through Aug. 26.
