If the Washington Redskins sign a veteran running back, it won’t be this week.
At least, that’s what ESPN insider Adam Schefter told “Get Up” Monday after he was asked about free agent Adrian Peterson’s scheduled visit to the team.
Schefter said there’s a “real chance” the Redskins will add a veteran, but in preparation for the regular season. In the meantime, Schefter says the Redskins could add a younger back to be a camp body.

Peterson will meet with the Redskins on Monday. Washington also hosted Orleans Darkwa and Jamaal Charles on Sunday.
If Peterson is brought in, left tackle Trent Williams would be a fan of the move. He told The Washington Times that his former college teammates hasn’t “slowed down a step.”
