A head-to-head golf contest between the two greatest golfers of the millennium now reportedly has secured a time and place.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, who earlier this summer teased the idea of a competition for $10 million, will play at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving weekend, sources told Mike Greenberg of ESPN.

Greenberg dropped the news during ESPN’s morning show, “Get Up.”

The purse is apparently not yet finalized, but it was previously billed as a $10 million, winner-take-all event.

What else isn’t known yet: whether the rivals will play the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, and which channel fans will tune into.

Mickelson turned 48 this year, and Woods is 42. They have 19 major titles between them, and their rivalry from the 2000s has reportedly mellowed out in the 2010s.

Woods has struggled to return to golf after back surgeries and off-the-course problems, but he has five top-10 finishes this season, including a T6 at The Open Championship at Carnoustie and a T4 at his foundation’s Maryland-based tournament, the Quicken Loans National.

Mickelson won the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship, but his biggest headline of the season came when he hit a moving putt at the U.S. Open in frustration and taking a penalty, claiming it was something he had always wanted to try.
