GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) - Limestone College has named Marquintus Jones as the interim head coach for the men’s basketball program.
Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Cerino said in a news release Friday that Jones takes over the program for Brandon Scott, who resigned after 11 seasons as head coach. Scott, who garnered a 176-147 overall record, has been named an assistant principal and athletic director at East Henderson High School, his alma mater in East Flat Rock, North Carolina.
Jones has served the Saints’ program for the past 12 years. During his tenure, Jones has helped lead the team to six 20-win seasons, four NCAA Tournament appearances, three Conference Carolinas Tournament Championships and two regular season titles.
The Saints open the season Nov. 9 at the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge.
