MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Gov. Kay Ivey has named Kelly Butler as acting finance director.
Ivey made the announcement Tuesday.
Butler replaces Finance Director Clinton Carter, who is leaving to take a job as chief financial officer and senior vice president for finance of the University of North Carolina System.
Butler has a long career in state finance and budget matters. He has served as state budget officer, assistant finance director and assistant state budget officer. He has also worked for the Legislative Fiscal Office and the Alabama Department of Revenue.
Ivey’s office says Butler will serve in this position until a search for a permanent finance director can be conducted.
