DETROIT (AP) - More than two dozen classic and custom Ford vehicles are expected to roll into downtown Detroit as a kickoff to the annual Woodward Dream Cruise.
The UAW-Ford says the inaugural Community Cruise will start at noon Friday at the UAW-Ford National Programs Center on Jefferson Avenue, east of downtown.
A police escort will accompany the drivers into downtown and north along Woodward Avenue to Oakland County where the Dream Cruise begins Saturday. The vehicles will be on display through Saturday at 13 Mile and Woodward in Royal Oak.
The Dream Cruise draws tens of thousands of classic and vintage cars, and hundreds of thousands of car enthusiasts.
UAW-Ford is a collaboration between United Auto Workers members and Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co.
