BOSTON (AP) - Police are investigating the 33rd homicide in Boston this year.

Officers were called to a home in the neighborhood of Mattapan shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday night and found a man in his mid-50s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to an area hospital and pronounced dead. The man has not been identified by police.

There are currently no suspects, but the department is continuing an investigation into the shooting.

Boston Police Commissioner William Gross says “one homicide is too many,” and that last year at this time, there had been 32 homicides in Boston.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting to call detectives.
