CALHOUN, Ga. (AP) - A flooring manufacturer plans to add more than 200 jobs in northwest Georgia with a planned $42 million expansion.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced that Mannington Mills plans a second facility in Gordon County less than a mile (1.6 kilometers) from the plant where it currently employs 700 workers.

The company makes laminate, vinyl and hardwood flooring for commercial buildings and homes. Mannington Mills’ new 78-acre (315,655-sq. meter) site will house workers in production, management, engineering and marketing. It will be located in Calhoun, about 65 miles (105 kilometers) north of Atlanta.

A news release says the company plans to have the new facility built and new workers in place by 2021.
