CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire has received a $10 million grant to help design a program to improve the health and wellness of people with mental illnesses.
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services received funding over five years from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The goal is to integrate physical and mental health care for young people ages 16 to 35 with severe mental illness or severe emotional disturbance.
About 1,100 people will be enrolled in the program that will offer such things as screenings for trauma and substance use, behavior health treatment, workforce training as well as family support.
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu says the grant enables the state “to build upon the important work we began last year within the mental health system.”
