OPINION:
Fox News host Laura Ingraham sparked massive backlash around the country when she opened a monologue by calling for the lynching of all black people, the gunning down of illegals at the border, the ripping of little brown-faced babies from their mommas — “not gringos,” she called them — and the chicken cage incarceration of any documented citizen that couldn’t produce proof of membership in either the KKK or the NRA.
Oh wait. She didn’t really. My bad. But in the twisted minds of the left, she might as well have.
It was all implied when she suggested this: Hey, how about we enforce some border laws around here before our country becomes a lawless cesspool of nothingness, adrift from its constitutional roots.
Or, as she termed it: America’s facing a threat of “massive demographic changes” that has led to the realization that “in some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore.”
She also said this: “Now, much of this is related to both illegal, and in some cases legal immigration that, of course, progressives love.”
That’s code, apparently, in the minds of the deceptive left, for string ’em up and watch ’em kick.
Mika Brzezinski on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, for instance, couldn’t contain, nearly tearing up as she spoke of Ingraham’s “very trashy, very ugly and very sad” rhetoric. Somebody give the lady a Kleenex.
But what did Ingraham say that was so awful — or factually flawed?
Fact is immigration has been a recognized political challenge for years. The left has been busily engaged in busting open borders in order to bolster their minority voting base; in order to upset the system of law and order of the U.S. republic; in order to tear down and toss out what Founding Fathers built; in order to usher in an era where government controls take over the idea of God-given rights and America becomes just another country for the globalists to exploit and rule.
One key, one very crucial key, to turn back this progressive tide is a gated, walled, secured border — one that lets in those who understand why America’s great and those who only want to help make it greater, one that selects new citizens based largely on merit and with a “what can you do for us”-type attitude and test.
“What Laura Ingraham said was awful,” CNN blasted in a headline.
No, it wasn’t.
What’s awful is a committed left bent on dramatically reshaping America by welcoming in those from countries who know little of the Constitution, care little for law and order, consider not at all the concept of God-given versus government-granted — and who want, nay demand, taxpayer support and giveaways simply because they’re alive, so they’re entitled. It’s become a “national emergency,” as Ingraham put it.
That’s not about skin color. That’s about principle.
It’s no wonder, then, that an unprincipled media doesn’t get it, and prefers instead to go merrily along painting those who do get it as something they’re not.
