CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia’s attorney general is suing a contractor who allegedly accepted down payments for home improvements that were never completed.

Patrick Morrisey filed a lawsuit in Harrison County Circuit Court accusing Clarksburg-based Vision Home Improvements, its operator and two assistants of making false promises involving awnings, windows, fire pits and other projects.

Morrisey also is seeking a temporary court order to ban the company from soliciting new business.

The lawsuit alleges the company charged customers 50 percent of the total contract price as a deposit, never paid the manufacturer and in several cases failed to order the purchased items. No refunds were made to customers.

Morrisey seeks full restitution for affected customers and penalties for violations of state consumer protection law.

A listed telephone number for the company was disconnected.
