RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - An air show will be held at Southern California’s March Air Reserve Base this weekend although the Air Force Thunderbirds will not participate following a crash that killed one of the team’s pilots.

Base officials tell the Press-Enterprise that other performers will present missing-man formations during the show to honor the Thunderbirds pilot, Maj. Stephen Del Bagno, who was killed Wednesday when his F-16 jet went down in Nevada.

Col. Matthew Barger, commander of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing at March, has offered condolences to the Thunderbirds team and families.

The March Field Air & Space Expo will be held Saturday and Sunday.
