SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco police have arrested a man they say stole guns from a home and left a note threatening to kill police officers and civilians.

Police say Dustin Hamilton was taken into custody shortly before 6 a.m. Friday after several people contacted officers about his whereabouts.

Hamilton, who’s homeless, was wanted in connection with a burglary at a San Jose home several days ago. Police there say he left behind a note containing credible threats to kill people in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Although that deadline passed, police were afraid he might still carry out the threat.

San Francisco police say Hamilton had two guns with him when he was arrested.

Hamilton already was wanted for assault and vandalism in San Francisco.
