DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - Famous rapper 21 Savage is covering the funeral costs for a 3-year-old killed in a shooting.

The boy’s mother, 26-year-old Roshonda Craig, tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the rapper is a friend and his offer takes a weight off the family.

T’Rhigi “Ralo” Diggs was shot in the chest on Sunday as his mother drove past a Texaco station along Eastland Road near Atlanta. Craig says a gray Dodge Charger pulled up next to her car and pulled out what she thought was a paintball gun.

The boy’s mother heard a gunshot but didn’t think anything of it until she realized T’Rhigi was unresponsive. The Journal-Constitution reports police initially described the shooting as a drive-by but are now considering whether the shot came from the gas station.

The funeral is Saturday.
