Capitals vs. Penguins Game 2: How to watch and what to watch for

If the Washington Capitals don’t get a grip on this series, Sunday’s game could be their final home game of the year.

Of course, that was also true when they went down 0-2 in their first-round playoff series against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Now, the Capitals enter Game 2 of their second-round tilt with the Pittsburgh Penguins trying to avoid entering the same-sized hole.

What to watch for: Penguins coach Mike Sullivan announced Sunday that Malkin would miss Game 2, as well. Sullivan said Malkin did not suffer a setback and could be available for Game 3 … In all three games the Capitals have lost in this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs — two games to Columbus and Game 1 to Pittsburgh — they have given up a 2-0 lead. Thursday’s loss came after Washington scored its second goal of the game in the third period; Sidney Crosby’s line was responsible for all three goals after that.
